10. The Marina

The tourist port of Capodimonte is quite large and well-equipped, accommodating over 350 vessels, both sailing (up to 10 meters) and motorboats (up to 8.25 meters). It consists of two arms that protect it from the wind and “lagheggiate” (local winds), and it features a crane for launching and hauling boats. Visitors can request a mooring spot by participating in the biennial tender held before the start of the bathing season or can make a daily stop (subject to availability) by contacting the port office directly.

From Capodimonte, tourist ferries operate, such as the motorship Letizia (55 seats) and the motorship Fenice (80 seats), offering navigation routes to some of the most beautiful spots on the lake, including tours around the two islands, Bisentina and Martana. This experience is a must for those wishing to appreciate the lake’s treasures up close and enjoy its stunning beauty.

A guided tour of Bisentina Island is particularly recommended, as its history and natural surroundings are sure to captivate visitors.

The Fenice vessel can also be rented for private parties (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) and for night swims with illuminated waters.

The square at the port is named after Giuseppe Pulicari (1933-1979), a Carabinieri Captain born in Capodimonte who was posthumously awarded the gold medal for military valor. He distinguished himself for his bravery during an anti-extortion operation, during which he lost his life in a dramatic shootout in Castel San Pietro Terme (BO). Despite being mortally wounded, he managed to hit one of the criminals, allowing for the capture of the entire gang.
